JA 3-15-13 and Homework

The Russian revolution is when the people of Russia who weren't at the war revolted against the communist government.  Also when the farmers revolted against the leader for making all the peasants work as slaves on their farm instead of just poor people.

Czars continue autocratic rule- Alexander III made everything written so that it could not be private, also he Jews the persecution.

The revolution movement grows- Russia became industrializing and the workers didn't like to working conditions or pay so they joined a group called the Bolsheviks and they soon overthrew the leader of Russia.

The russo- Japanese war- Japan and Russia both wanted the Koreas and they got a series of agreements until russia broke them and soon after Japan attacked Russia.

Bloody sunday the revolution of 1905- 200,000 Russian workers and their families stood outside the czars palace but the czar told his soldiers to open fire on them so not many people protested after that.

WWI the final blow-Nicholas made his troops go into world war I event though they were not ready, he went tho the war front with them and while he was away his wife was in charge and did a terrible job.

The czar steps down- Czar Nicholas stepped down because of the protests.

Lenin returns to russia- People tried and succeeded to get Lenin back in Russia

Bolsheviks in power- People didn't like the Bolsheviks because they gave the workers the factories and the peasants their farms and he gave up a lot of land to Germany.

Civil war rages in russia- People began revolting against the Govt. and they soon overthrew the russian govt.

Comparing world revolutions- The Russian revolution was more like the French revolution.

New economic policy- Because of the NEP the peasants could sell the crops they make instead of giving it to the government.

Political reforms- The bolsheviks were the first to create a communist government.
